Blogging

In our blog we have used blogging to store the information about ICT which we have done in class, so other people from the internet will be able to find out some extra information.

We have used blogging to store our information just incase the information which has been saved in the computer might get lost, but in Blog we will be able to restore that information which is saved in the Blogger.

Storing the information in the blogging, we do not need to print out the information or send out the information to our teacher. The teacher easily can access to our blogs with out downloading anything from email.

Now I am going to give you some few advantages about using the blog:

1)    The students and teachers are able to share their information’s

2)    The students and teachers are able to access to the class notes

3)    It’s very easy to access to the blog from any location

4)    The teachers are  able to create the private blogs so only students from the same class can see it

5)    You can design your own blog by adding the backgrounds which you want, adding colors, pictures, text , videos and gadgets

Why use Blogs?

Because you can get connected 24 hours so it means you can connect to the blog anytime you want to, also the students are free to create their own hubs for collecting and storing information.

Also blogs helps to improve the communication skills by allowing the users to communicate with each other by seeing each others blogs, leaving comments etc.

Also it’s very easy and simple to create the blog, it’s a lot easier than creating the actual website and it’s easy to understand how to use the blog because it’s not very hard to learn how to use and create blog.

It’s free to create your own blog so we don’t have to pay our money. The user is able to design their own blog they way they want to and edit the layout, colors and text and easily add the pictures.

The user blogs doesn’t have to contain many adverts, or have any adverts at all.

The user is also able to share their knowledge and information with other people through out all internets, and it’s very easy to access to the blog and everyone can see it.

You can use blogs to help you to make some extra cash on your spare time by having a good page rank but you won’t get rich by using your blog. Also these methods are very easy but you cannot choose who advertises or how much you would get paid for.

The user can also use the blog for non profit marketing; this means which offer itself with out making monetary profit for the marketer. Also non marketing involves the creation of blog, logos etc. and the other meaning of the non marketing as the non profit organisation/activities that are designed to spread the messages and also developing and campaign for outside audience

There are also some disadvantages of using blogging which are:

1)    The people who will view your blog , they can leave comments which can be negative comments about your blog etc

2)    A lot of blogger users might not have interesting things to say on their bloggers, some of the blogger users might say some non-sense

3)    Some users can create the blog if they are against on something such as for e.g. religions, diets etc.

4)    Also it’s very easy to start the blog, but it might be hard to maintain the blog by keeping up-date with the information and it might take a lot of time for e.g. to type a lot of information into the blog which might take a lot of time.

5)    Also some blogs can bring negative effects on our studies.

6)     Also we might spend a lot of time using our blogs, so it means more time using our blogs and less time spending with our friends or family outside the computer.

Communication tools

In this section I am going to talk about other communication tools such as twitter, podcast and Wikipedia and compare them with each other for e.g. twitter with blog and I will tell what are some advantages and disadvantages of using these communication tools .

Twitter & blogger

A lot of people and celebrities use twitter to communicate with their friends, post tweets and leave comments on pictures and videos which is being posted on twitter.

Also using twitter the celebrities and other people are able to see their statistics and how many people are fallowing their tweets, also they are able to see how many people likes their page and read other people comments and tweets .

The main advantages the twitter is:

1) you can keep in touch with your relatives and friends

2) You can see what your favourite celebrity is posting as a tweet

3) you can make new friends, add people also you can see other people profiles
4) you can share videos and photos , and see how many people likes your profile/video/pictures and how many followers you have

5) You can send online messages to other members; leave comments and post tweets on your own profile or on your friend’s profile.

The disadvantages of using Twitter

1)    Your friends/family can post the videos and pictures especially the videos and pictures which you don’t want to be seen by others

2)     The other people especially strangers they can view your profile , add you to their friends list

3)    Other people can leave comments/tweets about you which can be rude , insult

4)    Cyber bullying can be used in twitter

5)    A lot of people can spam on twitter , by posting non sense

6)    By spending more time using the twitter , you reduce your time in real life outside the computer spending with your family

Which is better blogger or twitter (my opinion)

From my opinion I think blogger is better than a twitter and also safer too , of-course their can be some people who can leave you rude comments about your blog but strange people might not be able to add you  into their friends list or post pictures/videos of you on your blogger.

In blogger you can still see your followers and how many people is viewing your page and where they live, you can also make some extra spare cash using the blogger than using a twitter so at least the time you waste using the blogger might be worth it to earn some cash than wasting the time of using twitter.

The other thing why I do like blogger because you can make your blog private so not everyone will be able to see your blog pages.

Podcast & Wikipedia

Podcast is the website page where the user can read some news, leave comments watch videos and see the pictures.

The advantages of using podcast are

1) people are able to see the videos about the news, sports

2) Leave comments & read other people comments

3)  See other people blogs via the podcast

4) The people can see UTV player and catch up by watching the videos which they have missed on TV

5) It’s free to use it

6) The people can create/login to their email account on Podcast

Disadvantages

1)    The people are able to leave any types of comments which they want such as rude comments or spam

2)    The users are able to send emails to each other , and some of the emails can be rude & insulting

3)    The people will be able to see other people blogs, they can leave negative things about the blogs

4)    Some news can make non sense

Wikipedia

The other communication tool is wiki; the people can communicate with each other by sharing their information and knowledge on the Wikipedia website. A lot of people use Wikipedia these days to find out information easily rather reading a books or looking into other website pages to find the source.

The advantages of using Wikipedia:
1) you can find the information you need easily

2) You can share your own knowledge and information with other people

3) it’s free to use it

4) You can rate other people information and knowledge on Wikipedia

5) The people might not be able to leave your spam on your Wikipedia information

6) You can edit your information any time you want

Disadvantages of using Wikipedia

1) a lot of information on Wikipedia can be fake and non sense

2) It might take a lot of time to type your own information and knowledge

3) The Wikipedia information can be also insulting, rude for e.g. religion disagreements, diet etc.

I use some of the sources from the Wikipedia which I think it’s correct, although not all information is correct in the Wikipedia because some Wikipedia users can store the information and other sources which make no sense or are fake.  While using Wikipedia it’s important to make sure that Wikipedia information is correct by reading couple of books or visit to the other websites.

Also it’s important to use other sources such as books to look for the suitable information not only Wikipedia or other websites, because some other websites and Wikipedia do contain a lot of fake information which can be incorrect for our assignments.

Which is better Podcast or Wikipedia?

I think podcast is better than Wikipedia because in podcast you can watch the videos, leave comments and see/read the news which you have not saw on your TV. You might not be able to find some sources which you need but you can find a lot of True information on Podcast.

I don’t think Wikipedia is better because in Wikipedia there are a lot of users which types the fake information and sources, so there is a lot of information which can be fake on Wikipedia.

Also on Wikipedia you might be able to see pictures, but you might not be able to watch videos.

Why I have used blogs instead of using other communication tools?

I have used blogs because I think it’s easier to create the blog and post the information and sources which you need, also I do get some information from other people blogs when I really need it.

I have used blogs because I can design my own blog the way I wanted it, I can communicate with other people by replying or leaving the comments. Check the statistic how people have visited to my blog and from where.

I do use blog to save my own information just incase the information inside the computer will get deleted. So I do store some information and sources into my own blog.

Also I use blog for because I think it’s easier for the teachers to access to my assignment files and mark my work with out downloading, printing anything from the computer and blog.

Also I do use the blog because it’s a bit safer than using other communication tools which are popular and a lot of people visit to there. Not all people might see my blog, but they might see my blog if they will want to find the information which they need to use for their sources.

I do use the blog, because my blog can be protected by the email and password, I can also make my own blog private so not everyone can see it apart from the teachers and some class mates.

 In the communication tools other people might be able to visit and see your profile.

I do use the blog because I think it’s safer because the strangers cannot add me to their ‘’friends list on the blog’’ like on other communication tools like face book, bebo and twitter.
