The ICT impact on social networking
These days a lot of people do use computers and internet to access to the social networking website such as face book , social networking websites is where the people can communicate with each other by chatting, sending pictures and videos, playing games, dating ,sharing comments and feeds.
The advantages of the social networking websites is:
· people are able to communicate with each other no matter where they are from or live, they can communicate even when they are miles away from each other
· some social networking websites are free to join, so might not need to even pay or enter the personal bank details and PayPal
· share pictures, stories, tag friends and family in the pictures or videos, you can either upload the picture or video or just copy the picture and video URL from the other websites and paste on your profile.
· play games with your friends and family
· meet new people and make new friends
· Read feeds which being posted by famous people.
· Advertise your company/business , sell your own products on face book groups or just create your own business face book page
The disadvantages of the social networking sites:
· Cyber bullying: a lot of people these days do use social networking sites just to insult and bully other people, also a lot of people do experience insults and bullying from social networking sites
· Fake people/ Fake accounts: in social networking such as facebook the people are able to create fake accounts and be fake person , so we might never know who and what stranger we are talking too
· Hackers: there is a lot of hackers especially in facebook who can try to access to your account , post some unwanted pictures and other stuff or even hack your profile page and your friends and family
· The people in your friends list are able to tag you in the pictures or videos... there can be some pictures/photos or even videos which you don’t want to be tag in but the people are able to tag you in even with out your permission
· Time wasting, especially when there is something better to do outside the computer
· Can disturbs students from doing their work in college, a lot of students use phones to access to the face book in school/college time
