Medical Training

The impact of ICT on medical training is that there is a lot of online and software doctor training which can be downloaded. It means the junior doctors can practice their skills online or via software than practice on real patience. Using online and software doctor practices is more safer than patient practice because if the inexperience doctor use his skills on the real patient can even make a mistake , so it’s a lot safer to just practice online or via software.

Here is the examples one of the doctor training websites:

Here is the print screen of one of the doctor games:

Patient Records:

The impact of ICT for the patient records is that doctors and officers don’t need to write it down on the paper anymore, these days all the medical offices and doctors use computers to store the patient’s personal data. A lot of patients personal data is being stored in the database Tables and for e.g. if the patient wants to make appointment with the doctor, the doctor will not need to go look for the papers where the patient data is being write down, but now the doctors can easily use the computer and find the patients information in the database, and organize the appointment time and date too.

Here is the example of the print screen of the patient’s personal information which is being stored in the database:

Pharmacy records

The impact of the ICT on the pharmacy records, is that people who works in pharmacy and doctors can save the medication name which has been gave to the patient , also the medication can be checked via computer if it’s in stock or not.

Also pharmacy is able to order the medication via computer for the patient.

Hospital Administration

The impact of the ICT for the hospital administration is that the administration can store and check the patients attendances on the computer with out having hard time by counting or writing down on paper how often does the patient attends to the surgery and how often does he not attend to his appointment.

Also when the hospital administrator has to take a blood test from the patient or give the prescription of the medication to the patient, these days they can print out the labels (stickers) via computer.

Also the hospital administration can easily order the food using the computer by sending the messages, emails to the people or nurses who provides food for the patients.
Also the Hospital administrations can make appointments and send letters using the computer with out writing on the paper to the each patient. Now using the computer the administrations can copy and paste letter with out writing out every time for the patient.

NHS Direct
The impact of ICT for the NHS direct is that a lot of patients can visit to the NHS website to check the extra information about the health, to read about the health conditions and what treatments are needed , also via internet the patient can contact with the NHS by sending them a email or just find the phone number.

So the patient doesn’t need to go to the NHS place for the information if he has the computer and internet at home because it’s a lot easier and don’t need to travel

NHS Choices website

NHSnet
The impact of ICT for the NHS net is projects can connect to all the GP surgeries which are being networked to hospitals via computer.
Monitoring/Diagnoses
The impact of the ICT for the monitoring and diagnoses is that a lot of GP surgeries can use the computers to monitor the heart rates, blood pressure etc. also they can diagnose the problem using the computer systems and internet easily than before .
The GP can use the expert systems and Cat scans to check the health conditions on the patient. Before the ICT is being introduced the doctors weren’t able to do the X-rays, Scans etc
